Everyone of us is blessed with a potential to lead. Some of us discover it early, while some others never do – only to go through lives completely unaware. LeadCap diaries narrate leadership lessons from the experiences of some real people around us. The more you read and reflect on these experiences, the more easily you would gain confidence to rise to a leadership role.

At the same time, there are still many more stories that have leadership lessons which we could all learn from. They could be fables that you have heard, biographies that you have read or even your own life experiences. These stories and lessons could break more myths and could help in drawing more people towards a leadership experience. Share these stories with us by mailing them across to mail@leadcap.org.

Meet Mr.Prashanth IAS~Sub Collector wayanad

  • We had a very pleasant surprise waiting for us in Mananthavadi, a place bordering Tamil Nadu. We got a private bus and we always enjoyed the trips to Mananthavadi.Nice greenery, and flat roads.

Lijo , who I would like to call as a midnight student as he is a regular residential student , who learns how to communicate and to take leadership decisions, when the world sleeps. I like Lijo very much , he is so determinate and he changed a lot recently. Lijo is a native of Mvdi.

With him we went to meet Mr.Prasanth IAS , sub Collector of Wayanad. a very young, handsome and dynamic man, even though busy , he spent nearly one hour with us. He was very happy to see the revolutionary ideas Anne Frank has introduced in Wayanad over the years.

Wyanad is predominantly a tribal area, and the tribes here are still struggling to keep pace with the polished society they are now in. This is some thing that worried me for many years, and this is how I became a journalist too.It was many years back, when I came to know about a place called `Chekadi` bordering Tamil Nadu and Karnataka where human beings struggle to exist fighting floods, spurious liquor, ignorance , neglect and above all lack of a vision of a better morrow. I went the place twice , did an investigative report and published it in a magazine as cover story. It caught the attention of the Govt. as after my report all the medias started publishing stories on the place. It was my find. The human rights commission , taking my feature as a complaint and invited the editor and myself for a sitting.Soon ,the place which is predominantly a tribal belt, started to get attention from the Govt. and above all the villagers started to react in a positive way. The knowledge that starving tribal kids got at-least a couple of meals free of cost just because of a few sleepless nights I spent in my writing room was an eye opener for me.This single incident made me took a decision to lead the life of a journalist.I shared this bit of news here because of the passion of Mr. Prasanth to do something great for the tribes which was a passion for me years back. I saw myself in Mr. Prasanth. I shared the story with him.Very happily we assured him that Anne Frank is with him in the field of education and training to make two ends of a seemingly elusive worlds CONNECT.

We came back from Mananthavadi with one more friend……
